Former post office manager in Castanea pleads guilty to misappropriating funds

Macey Geyer, a former manager at the Castanea Post Office, pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. Middle District Court to misappropriating over $9,000 in postal funds while employed at the office.

Geyer was the officer in charge between August 2012 and April and has confessed to converting the currency, money orders, stamps and bank deposits valued at $9,2390 for her own use, according to district U.S. Attorney Peter J. Smith.

Geyer appeared before district Magistrate Judge William I. Arbuckle III for the hearing.

Court officials said her sentencing will be scheduled at another time.
