Police: Man on parole for theft steals handgun from pickup truck
JERSEY SHORE – An Allegheny Street man already on parole for theft has been arrested for allegedly stealing a handgun from another man’s pickup truck, according to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police.
Daniel D. Hamilton, 18, of 1228 Allegheny St., is accused of stealing a gun from Wilber Samara’s truck while it was parked in the 200 block of Elm Street on Aug. 18, police said.
Jailed on a parole violation soon after the theft, Hamilton was arraigned last week before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle. He was recommitted in lieu of $25,000 bail.
