Tioga County man allegedly lied on firearms application
MANSFIELD – Eric Sean Grabowski, 31, of 11575 Route 6, is accused of falsifying information on an application to purchase a firearm March 21.
Allegedly, Grabowski filled out an official Pennsylvania State Police application to purchase a firearm at Cooper’s Sporting Goods in Wellsboro so he could obtain a Glock G27. When the application asked, “Are you now or have you ever been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year?” the accused checked the box for “no.”
In fact, Grabowski pleaded guilty to a DUI charge in 2006, which carries a sentence of imprisonment of greater than one year, according to the affidavit.
This makes him ineligible to purchase a firearm. Grabowski is charged with providing false information on a firearms sale application and unsworn falsification to authorities.
His preliminary hearing was Wednesday in front of District Judge James E. Carlson.
