Armed man robs Nittany Minit Mart

State police are searching for an unidentified man who robbed the Nittany Minit Mart, 1450 E. Third St. in Loyalsock Township, at 9:30 p.m. Sunday night.

The clerk who had been working that evening, Paige Thygesen, said she was having a normal night until a man in a hoodie with a bandanna covering his face walked into the store. He pointed a pistol at her and demanded all the money in the drawer.

In that moment she was in complete disarray, she said, and could not believe what was going on.

“I thought, “Oh my God this can’t be happening, this can’t be happening,’ ” Thygesen said.

According to the state police, the man took the money and ran out of the store.

Thygesen said that once she gave the robber the money, she immediately called the police and her manager. They all arrived at the store to take a look at the surveillance footage.

The convenience store has been robbed in the past, but not recently, state Trooper Jeffrey Vilello said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the state police Montoursville barracks at 368-5700.
