Cops: Parolee back in jail after trying to elude officer

When motorist David Dwayne Hill spotted city Patrolman Jason Dockey in a police cruiser near West Edwin and Walnut streets about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the 41-year-old federal parolee tried to elude the officer, according to court records.

Hill is under house arrest and his driver’s license is suspended, police said.

Dockey activated his cruiser’s emergency lights and siren when he saw Hill run a red traffic light at Little League Boulevard and Walnut Street.

Hill, of 1549 Memorial Ave., ran three stop signs before he was taken into custody with the help of a civilian in the 400 block of West Third Street, police said.

Arraigned on charges of fleeing police and recklessly endangering, he was jailed in lieu of $125,000 bail.
