Jersey Shore man jailed in altercation

A Jersey Shore man was charged following an altercation with a teenager in his home Thursday night.

Police reported Jacob D. McCloud, 37, of 301 Locust St., was arrested for simple assault and harassment following the incident around 9 p.m.

Police said McCloud grabbed the throat of a 17-year-old male following an argument and in the midst of a struggle in the residence.

The two had begun arguing after McCloud ran to the upstairs of the home to question the youth after a 3-year-old fell from off a bunk bed, causing the child to bleed from the mouth.

According to an affidavit, McCloud and the youth shoved each other before McCloud grabbed the youth around the throat.

The teen, in turn, got McCloud in a chokehold.

Following his arraignment, McCloud was placed in the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27.
