City convenience store is held up
A robbery of a convenience store in the Newberry section of Williamsport was reported by Lycoming County Communications sometime around 8 p.m. Thursday.
A white male, wearing a mask, black sweatpants and a blue hoodie sweatshirt entered the Kwik Fill, 2705 W. Fourth St., and demanded money before fleeing the scene by foot.
A store employee, who declined to give his name, said it was unknown if the man was armed. He said the suspect kept his hands in his pockets.
Two clerks who were on duty at the time of the holdup escaped harm.
The amount of money taken from the store was undetermined.
Efforts to reach city police were unsuccessful Thursday evening.
