Police: Motorist uses heroin, falls from car

After driving from her home in Centre County to Williamsport to buy three bags of heroin, 35-year-old Kristina Marie Homan injected one of the bags “somewhere between the city and Linden” and then pulled into a parking lot along Route 220 in Woodward Township, state police said.

She then opened the driver’s door and fell onto the pavement, prompting passersby to call for an ambulance.

Also responding to the scene that evening on March 26 was state Trooper Troy Hansen, who was dispatched to the lot to investigate a report of “a possible drug overdose,” according to an affidavit filed by the trooper.

Homan, of Julian, appeared “very lethargic and unsteady on her feet,” but she refused all medical treatment, Hansen said, adding that two bags of heroin were discovered in her purse. A blood test at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center revealed she was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Charged with driving under the influence, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, Homan has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley.
