Woman allegedly tries to rob store
An area woman faces charges for allegedly attempting to rob a convenience store before getting run out by a manager wielding a baseball bat, city police alleged.
Police say Samantha Ann Kline, 24, of 62 Breininger Lane, walked into the Uni-Mart on 1037 High St. around 10 p.m. Saturday wearing a mask and said, “Give me all your money.”
Police made contact with the manager, Guy Hall, who told them he threatened her with a baseball bat and she fled.
Hall also told police he saw something in her hand he assumed was a weapon, according to records.
Police say they located Kline on the intersection of Memorial and Thomas avenues later that night and had Hall come to identify her.
Kline was carrying two box cutters when she was searched, records show.
She faces charges in the robbery and the possession of a weapon and is jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
