Man’s preliminary hearing waived

JERSEY SHORE – Colin James Best, 31, of 236 Bubb Lane, waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday on charges of invasion of privacy and illegal possession of sexual materials, but Tiadaghton Valley Regional police withdrew one count of illegal use a communication device.

The charges stem from an incident earlier this month when police discovered photos of a nude female minor that he allegedly took with his cellphone, according to court records.

Best allegedly took the pictures in a home in the borough, police said, adding that the girl was unaware she was being photographed.

Best remains jailed on a probation violation and in lieu of bail, which District Judge Jerry C. Lepley low ered from $20,000 to $15,000 bail.
