2 recovering after Monday stabbing attack
Two men are recovering at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville from stab wounds they suffered during Monday night’s assault at the Penn Vale housing development in Loyalsock Township, state police said.
The assault, which occurred inside 1686 Randall Circle just after 8 p.m., was the result of an apparent domestic disturbance, police said.
A 22-year-old Williamsport man showed up “unwelcomed” at the apartment, “pounding on the front door and refusing to leave,” Trooper Brandon Schrawder said in a news release.
When the 19-year-old woman who rents the apartment opened the door, the man forced his way inside and began fighting with a 21-year-old man who was there, the trooper said.
The woman tried to break up the altercation, but when that failed, she got a knife and stabbed the intruder in the back, Schrawder said. The injured man pulled the knife out of his back and turned it on the other man, stabbing him, the trooper said.
Both men were taken initially to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center in ambulances and then to Geisinger.
Police did not release the identities of those involved, but Schrawder said “charges were pending” as the investigation was ongoing.
There was no information on the men’s medical conditions.
