Bus service company manager allegedly stole over $20,000
The terminal manager of the Student Transportation of America office on West Third Street has been arrested on felony charges of allegedly stealing in excess of $20,000 from the company between July 2015 and last summer, according to city police said.
Investigators said Felicia Michelle Brown, 37, allegedly deposited $22,240 of the company’s funds into her own personal account.
Based in New Jersey, the company “provides school bus service for the Williamsport Area School District and other entities,” an officer wrote in an affidavit.
Police allege that during a 12-month period, Brown stole 16 checks that all were payable to Student Transportation of America and deposited them into her account using an ATM on Maynard Street.
Following her arraignment Thursday before District Judge Christian Frey, Brown was released on $15,000 bail.
