This tractor-trailer loaded “floor-to-ceiling and from front-to-back” with Cool Whip caught fire about 5:40 p.m. Thursday as the truck driver, who was not injured, was traveling south on Route 15 near Pinchtown Road, right at the Clinton-Brady township line. “This was initially dispatched as a tractor-trailer with its tires, but it quickly extended. When I arrived, all the tires were burning and flames were burning up the passenger side of the trailer,” Clinton Township Fire Chief Todd Winder said. Fire also was burning overhead power lines. It took about 15 minutes for Clinton Township and Elimport firefighters to get the fire under control. The driver’s identity was not available.
