14 people charged with various offenses
Fourteen people have been charged with various offenses.
Those charged and the police departments involved were:
• Kimyatta L. McGuffie, 36, of 611 Locust St.; city police; felony shoplifting and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing $38 worth of merchandise from Family Dollar, 328 Memorial Ave., on Jan. 21; jailed on probation violation and in lieu $15,000 bail.
• Michael Allen Knox, 26, formerly of Milton, but now homeless; Montoursville police; misdemeanor shoplifting for allegedly stealing $548 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart on Loyalsock Avenue on Jan. 5; jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
• Tammy Mae Bergquist, 52, of 316 N. Washington St., Montoursville; Muncy police; felony shoplifting and receiving stolen property for allegedly trying to steal $29 worth of merchandise from the Dollar General Store on Water Street on Dec. 29; jailed on probation violation and in lieu of $10,000 bail.
• Abigail M. Williams, 52, of 1257 W. Fourth St.; Old Lycoming Township police; misdemeanor shoplifting and conspiracy for allegedly stealing a total of $151 worth of merchandise from Dollar General, 2062 Lycoming Creek Road, between Dec. 27 and Dec. 29; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
• Nyahuma Spivey, 45, of 616 Seventh Ave.; city police; terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for allegedly threatening to shoot and stab a woman’s dogs as she was walking the pets in the 900 block of Memorial Avenue on Dec. 19; initially jailed, now out on $10,000 bail.
• William Scott Merrick, 49, of 101 Boak Ave., Hughesville; state police; simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment for allegedly spitting a mouth full of blood at an emergency room employee at the Muncy Valley Hospital on Nov. 17 following an incident at his home; released on $10,000 bail.
• Sonia Lee Murphy, 57, of 17455 Route 44, Allenwood; the local chapter the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; cruelty to animals for allegedly shooting and killing a neighbor’s Yellow Labrador retriever because it was on her property, growling and wound not move on Nov. 4; released on $5,000 bail; the dog was owned by Ruben Fisher.
• Jason A. Holmes, 42, of 337 Walnut St.; city police; indecent exposure and disorderly conduct in the 400 block of Walnut Street on Nov. 2; released on $2,500 bail.
• Amberlynn P. Johnson, 24, and roommate Stephanie Renee Welch, 23, Apt. 110, of 2500 Federal Ave.; city police; theft for allegedly stealing a campaign sign from Eric Richards’ front yard at 1032 Dewey Ave. on Oct. 31; bench warrants were expected to be issued after the two failed to appear for their preliminary hearings.
• Randy Allen Wright, 26, of 2110 Cummings St.; city police; theft and access device fraud for allegedly stealing Bobbie Millward’s credit card and $2 from her wallet and then using the credit card to make $422 worth of purchases at a local bar on Oct. 29; the items were stolen from Millward’s city home; released on $2,500 bail.
• Timothy Lee Johns Sr., 45, of Watsontown; state police; six counts of accidents involving death or injury, driving under the influence of intoxicants and accidents involving damaged to attended property (hit-and-run) following a crash on Route 15 in Clinton Township on Oct. 15 in which six people were injured; released on $2,500 bail; this is Johns’ third DUI arrest.
• Michael Jason Myers, 37, of 637 Beaver Lake Road, Hughesville, and neighbor Paul Michael Temple, 27, of 637 Beaver Lake Road; state police; simple assault, recklessly endangering and related offenses following a mutual confrontation outside Myers’ home in which Myers allegedly charged at Temple with an all-terrain vehicle, pinning him against the house while Temple, armed with a rifle, allegedly fired the weapon in the air on May 5; both sent summonses to appear before a district judge.
