7 charged with variety of offenses

Seven people have been charged with various criminal offenses, according to court records. Those charged and the police departments involved were:

• Aaron Smith, 51, 1016 Vine Ave.; city police; simple assault and harassment following a domestic disturbance in which he allegedly grabbed Marcella Carr by the neck at 1031 Park Ave. on Tuesday night; jailed in lieu of $3,000 bail.

• Mikayla Georgeanne Barnes, 18, a court-ordered resident of Ashler Manor, 276 Ashler Drive, Muncy Township; state police; escape and flight to avoid apprehension for allegedly fleeing the facility on April 2; she has since been nabbed and jailed in lieu of $90,000; court records offered no information about her capture.

• Gary Eugene Solomon, 48, of 246 Stryker Ave., Montgomery; local chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; cruelty to animals for his alleged neglect of a dog that died on his Clinton Township property in March; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.

• Donuae M. Kellam, 31, of 716 Center St.; city police; misdemeanor shoplifting after she was caught allegedly trying to steal $76 worth of merchandise at Wegmans, 201 William St., on Feb. 20; released on $2,500 bail; this was her second shoplifting arrest.

• State Correctional Institution at Muncy inmate Kathryn Mary Shumart, 32, state police; criminal solicitation to have contraband brought into the jail allegedly through her mail on at least two occasions between November and March; in one case, a packet of opiates she had mailed to her was intercepted by the mail staff; recommitted in lieu of $25,000 bail.

• Dana Marie Waite, 32, of Renovo; state police; theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing $75 worth of stamps, $45 and two gift cards from the business office during a burglary at Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church on Clayton Avenue in Loyalsock Township in mid-October 2015; released on $10,000 bail.

• Dustin Michael Zink, 26, of 1328 Beaver Lake Road, Hughesville; state police; burglary, felony trespassing and criminal mischief for allegedly breaking into a cabin at the Pine Tree Hunting Club, 339 Ganderback Road, Hughesville, in mid-April 2015; jailed in lieu of $90,000 bail; co-defendant Kevin Heeman Sr. already has been charged; he is free on bail.
