A Muncy man is in serious condition after he was struck by oncoming traffic while crossing Lycoming Creek Road on Friday, police said.

According to state police, Michael J. Irion, 37, was hit by a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Rebecca S. Woodring, 38, of Cogan Station, as he attempted to cross the road just north of Hatfield Street.

It is unknown if Irion was crossing or standing still on the road, according to state police. Woodring’s car was driving South and hit Irion. When police arrived on the scene, Iron was lying in the southbound lane, state police said. Woodring was not harmed and stopped at a gas station south of the scene.
