Man accused of sex crimes

Felony and misdemeanor charges have been filed against a 22-year-old Hepburn Township man for exchanging sexually explicit images and videos with a 13-year-old girl, Old Lycoming Township police Sgt. Christopher Kriner alleged in an affidavit.

Chase Steven Schenck, of 697 Lamont Drive, faces a total of 22 charges, including 14 counts of possession of child pornography, three counts of sexual abuse of children, two counts of disseminating obscene and other sexual materials, unlawful contact with a minor and related offenses.

Schenck “utilized social media sites on his cellular devices to communicate with the teenager on multiple occasions between April and the end of June,” Kriner said.

Schenck admitted that the “conversations he had with the juvenile were sexually explicit and involved soliciting her for sexually explicit images and videos of herself,” Kriner said.

Schenck allegedly sent the girl inappropriate pictures of himself, the investigator added.

Following his arraignment before District Judge William Solomon, he was released on $150,000 bail.
