4 motorists charged with DUI in county
Four motorists have been charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants or controlled substances, according to court records. Those charged and the police departments involved were:
• Jeffrey W. Lovell, 53, of 1409 Pennsylvania Ave.; city police; DUI and failure to stop or yield at a sign at the intersection of Shredding Street and Sherman Street on Nov. 22, 2017; released on $5,000 bail.
• Matthew R. Miller, 18, of New Oxford; city police; DUI, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia at the intersection of Market Street and Route 180 on Nov. 11, 2017; released on $5,000 bail.
• Herbert J. Bensing, 58, of Bath; South Williamsport police department; DUI, obedience to traffic control devices and restriction on alcoholic beverages at the 26,000th block of Route 180 on Oct. 6, 2017; released on $5,000 bail.
• Jack A. Kiessling, 46, 557 Dunkard Church Road, Cogan Station; city police; DUI and careless driving at Harding Avenue on Nov. 15, 2017; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
