5 people face charges in Tioga County

TIOGA –Five people either have appeared or will appear before district judges to face various charges in Tioga County. They are:

• Anibal Rodriquez, 40, 130 Carpenter St., Blossburg, faces charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering and harassment stemming from an incident at his residence on July 26. Blossburg police allege that Rodriquez got into a verbal argument with a juvenile at the residence, which escalated when the accused hit the 16-year-old male in the face with his fist. Rodriquez has been sent a summons to appear for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 8 before District Judge James E. Carlson.

• Cortney T. Stotsenburgh, 22, 455 Reynold Rd., Liberty, faces charges of simple assault and harassment following an incident at 31 Court Lane, Liberty Township, on June 6. Mansfield state police allege Stotsenburgh got into an argument with the victim and struck him with her right hand above his eye. Stotsenburgh has been sent a summons to appear for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 11 before District Judge Robert L. Repard.

• Chase Tyler Onks, 24, 31 Court Lane, Liberty, faces charges of simple assault and harassment stemming from an incident at his residence on June 6. Mansfield state police allege that Cortney T. Stotsenburgh told them that Onks tried to hit her and missed, striking himself above the left eye. Onks has been sent a summons to appear for a preliminary hearing on Sept.11 before District Judge Robert L. Repard.

• Alexander John Kozuhowski, 18, 1817 Hills Creek Road, Wellsboro, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to purchase alcohol stemming from an incident on Tioga Street and at the Nittany Minit Mart in Wellsboro on July 19. According to Wellsboro police, Kozuhowski allegedly sold $20 worth of marijuana and police were called by a witness to the transaction. When the accused returned to his vehicle it wouldn’t start, so police helped him get it started, but in the process they detected the smell of marijuana. They searched his vehicle and found a small amount of the drug and various drug paraphernalia. Kozuhowski has been sent a summons to appear for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 21 before District Judge Robert L. Repard.

• Nathan Michael Nixon, 23, 99 Back St., Morris, faces charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief stemming from an incident on July 20 at 3A Austin St., Wellsboro. According to Wellsboro police, Nixon went to his estranged girlfriend’s home and found her with another man. Nixon allegedly struck Eric Hoppe several times and then slashed tires on Hoppe’s vehicle. Nixon was sent a summons to appear for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 28 before District Judge Robert L. Repard.
