Williamsport fire leaves 3 homeless

It was believed that three people were left homeless after this house at 1112 Hadtner Ave. in the city’s East End was extensively damaged in a two-alarm kitchen fire that broke out about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to investigators. One resident was taken by ambulance to the local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes. Thick smoke, which poured several hundred feet into the air, was visible from Interstate 180 near the city-Loyalsock Township line. The local chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting the victims. More details of the fire is expected to be released today.
