Fire destroys mobile home in Lycoming Township

Several fire companies were on the scene of a house fire in Lycoming Township late Wednesday night.

The mobile home at 404 N. Shaffer Hill Road was declared a total loss by Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Jeffrey Tempesco.

No one was home at the time of the blaze, which fire units initially responded to around 11:30 p.m.

A neighbor was able to get the family dog out of the home.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated.

No injuries were reported.

Water was hauled to the fire scene from a hydrant along Lycoming Creek, about two miles away.

Fire units from Williamsport, Old Lycoming, Trout Run, DuBoistown, Eldred Township, Woodward Township, Loyalsock Township and South Williamsport responded.
