City woman pleads guilty to stealing plant
JERSEY SHORE — After paying a fine she owed at the office of District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on Market Street on July 5, Florance Vandine walked out the door, picked up a small cactus plant that was on the porch and walked away, according to Tiadaghton Valley Regional police.
The $12 plant belonged to Chris Hauser, a tenant who lives in an upstairs apartment.
Police caught up with Vandine, 69, of 617 Green St., Williamsport, at a nearby business and questioned her about the theft, which was caught on video.
Charged with theft, Vandine pled guilty to the misdemeanor offense and made arrangements to pay $680 in fines and court costs.
