24 charged with varous criminal offenses

Twenty-four people have been charged with various criminal offenses, according to court records. Those charged and the law enforcement agencies involved were:

• Bernard Buxton, 67, of 2613 Linn St.; city police; simple assault and harassment for allegedly punching wife, Carol, in the mouth at 2511 Grand St. on Sept. 12; released on $15,000 bail.

• Gage Almeida, 18, of 71 Old Cement Road, Montoursville; Montoursville police; robbery, conspiracy and corrupting the morals of minors for allegedly conspiring with three minors in assaulting and robbing Devyn Hopper, punching him and forcibly taking from him his vaping devices in the 600 block of Fourth Avenue on Sept. 10; Hopper was treated at Williamsport Regional Medical Center for his injuries; Almeida jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail; the three minors have been petitioned into juvenile court on robbery and conspiracy charges.

• Bradley Rinker, 35, of 3374 Route 87, Montoursville; state police; terroristic threats for walking into Clem Pa (the snack food distribution center warehouse) at 90 Choate Circle in Fairfield Township, and allegedly telling an employee “I’m going to shoot a lot of people,” on Aug. 27; when the employee told Rinker, a contracted delivery driver, “not to talk like that and that he should try to wake up tomorrow with a better attitude, Rinker replied ‘The only way tomorrow would be better is if I had a loaded gun,'” according to an affidavit; initially jailed, but now free on $100,000 bail.

• Tracey Gray, 44, of 124 Emery St.; Old Lycoming Township police; misdemeanor shoplifting after she was caught allegedly trying to steal $87 worth of merchandise at the Weis Market, 1916 Lycoming Creek Road, on Aug. 20; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.

• Bruce Kane, 19, of 702 Penn St.; city police; burglary, felony trespassing and theft for allegedly stealing jewelry and cash from the home of Michle Wilt at 330 Locust St. on Aug. 18; jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail; Kane is the ex-boyfriend of the victim’s granddaughter.

• Ronald Bernard, 57, of 834 W. Third St.; city police; terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment for allegedly grabbing and punching Benjamin Delp, knocking him off the porch banister he was sitting on at 832-834 W. Third St. on July 19; “I’ll kill you,” Bernard allegedly told Delp, who landed on the ground, hitting his head; Delp was treated at Williamsport Regional Medical Center; Bernard jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail.

• Christopher Vandine, 42, of 322 Park Ave.; misdemeanor shoplifting and disorderly conduct for allegedly stealing $17 worth of merchandise from Wegmans, 201 William St., on June 28; he was nabbed several blocks from the store; the disorderly charge stems from him allegedly spitting in the back seat of the cruiser; jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.

• Raymond Riley Jr., 46, 401 S. Main St., Jersey Shore; Tiadaghton Valley Regional police; misdemeanor shoplifting and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a total of $435 worth of merchandise from the Minit Mart, 815 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, between May 11 and June 7; a bench warrant for his arrest was expected to be filed after he failed to appear for his preliminary hearing.

• Asia Agnew, 22, of 1043 1/2 Isabella St.; state police; DUI and careless driving following a crash at East Third Street and Northway Road on June 26; her blood-alcohol content level was .13; a bench warrant was expected to be filed for her arrest after she failed to appear for her preliminary hearing.

• Jeremy Winder, 29, of 538 Ruben Kehrer Road, Muncy; state police; DUI, driving with a suspended license, speeding and careless driving on Route 220 in Porter Township on June 16; his blood-alcohol content level was .12; released on $1,500 bail.

• Morgan Gaston, 36, of 1300 W. Fourth St.; city police; possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at Little League Boulevard and Campbell Street on June 14; released on $1,500 bail.

• Neil Twist, 31, of Canton; state police; DUI, recklessly endangering, driving with a suspended license, driving with no registration and careless driving following a crash in the 1900 block of Warrensville Road on June 7; he refused to provide a blood sample; two minors were riding in the car at the time; released on $5,000 bail.

• Stephen Russell, 36, 2305 Reed St.; city police; DUI of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving following an accident at Campbell Street and Rural Avenue, where he struck a parked car on May 31; this was his second DUI arrest; released on $5,000 bail.

• Brenda Carroll, 41, an inmate at the state Correctional Institution at Muncy; state police; aggravated harassment by prisoner for allegedly spitting in a correction officer’s face at the jail at 6454 Route 405, Muncy, on May 30; recommitted in lieu of $35,000 bail.

• Jacob Gregory, 21, of Troy; state police; DUI of a controlled substance and careless driving on Interstate 180 in Loyalsock Township on May 25; released on $5,000 bail.

• Lloyd Segraves, 59, of 719 Wyoming St.; city police; DUI following a crash at Wyoming and George streets on May 10; his blood-alcohol content level was .16; sent a summons to appear before a district judge.

• Janessa Knott, 33, of 1709 Riverside Drive, South Williamsport; Montoursville police; DUI in the 300 block of Crawford Alley on May 8; her blood-alcohol content level was .16; released on $5,000 bail.

• Anthony Buss, 25, of Apple Creek, Ohio; Montoursville police; DUI on Interstate 180 in the borough on May 8; his blood-alcohol content level was .13; released on $5,000 bail.

• David Schelling, 59, of St. Agustine, Florida; state police; DUI of a controlled substance, speeding and careless driving on Interstate 180 in Montoursville on April 20; released on $5,000 bail.

• Jacob Deangelo, 24, of 1321 Lose Ave., state police; DUI and careless driving at Fairfield and Brushy Ridge roads in Fairfield Township on March 24; his blood-alcohol content level was .11; released on $5,000 bail.

• Charles Pittenger, 48, of 735 Butternut Grove Road, Montoursville; state police; DUI of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving on Pleasant Valley Road in Eldred Township on March 12; released on $5,000 bail.

• Joseph Kinney, 53, formerly of Berwick now homeless; state police; misdemeanor shoplifting and theft by deception for allegedly stealing $49 worth of merchandise from Cole’s Hardware, 130 Muncy Creek Blvd. in Muncy Creek Township, on Jan. 9 and then having an unidentified female acquaintance attempt to return the items for cash; this was Kinney’s second shoplifting arrest; jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail.

• Gabriel Heddings, 20, of 906 Weldon St., Montoursville; state police; DUI of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving on Nov. 22; released on $5,000 bail.

• Michael Stugart, 55, of 702 Slacks Run Road, Trout Run; state Attorney General’s Office; insurance fraud and theft by deception for allegedly filing a second car-accident damage insurance claim with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. last October after he had already received a $3,600 payment from Progressive Insurance Co. for a claim he had filed for the very same accident; released on $15,000 bail.
