Police: Man threatens to kill his wife over lack of dinner
MANSFIELD – Bradley D. Merryfield, 50, of 114 Packard Road, Covington, was charged by state police with making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment during a Jan. 26 domestic incident against his wife, Tiffany Merrifield.
Merryfield started an argument with his wife after she returned from purchasing groceries because she had not made his dinner, according to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office.
He allegedly threw her into the cupboards and onto the floor, then grabbed a knife, held it to her throat and said, “One of us is going to die tonight.”
Police said she got free and drove herself to the hospital emergency room for treatment.
Merryfield was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail and his preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 6.
