Motorcycle crash claims the life of 18-year-old

TROY – A crash in Troy Township took the life of a young motorcyclist at 10:10 a.m. Monday.

According to Towanda state police Trooper Michael Tereska, Daniel Leslie Wilber, 18, of Troy, was traveling west on Route 6 on his Honda CRF 250L when a Buick Regal 4D traveling in front of him and driven by Rebecca Hulslander, 21, of Troy, stopped to wait for a vehicle to turn left in front of it.

Wilber attempted to stop the bike and skidded into the rear of Hulslander’s vehicle. The impact caused the motorcycle to travel into the eastbound lane of Route 6 where it struck the left front side of an approaching Kia Sorrento SW driven by Donna Marie Williams, 56, of Troy.

Wilber was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bradford County coroner. He was wearing a helmet.

Hulslander and Williams were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.

Western Alliance EMS and Troy Fire Department also were on the scene.

The state Department of Transportation handled traffic control and closed Route 6 while responders handled the crash.
