Fly a radio-controlled plane at Lock Haven airport

LOCK HAVEN – The 12th Wings Over Piper radio-controlled model plane fun fly will be held Aug. 1-3 at the William T. Piper Memorial Airport.

It is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3.

The event honors the role Lock Haven and the Piper Aircraft Corp. played in creating the nation’s general aviation industry. It also gives model plane enthusiasts the opportunity to fly their planes at an historic venue.

The “landing fee” for participants is $25 for the entire event.

In addition to watching model planes of all sizes, many of them Piper Cubs, spectators will be able to enjoy food from local vendors. Vendors of model plane-related items, as well as a model plane related flea market, will also be on site during the event.
