Master Gardeners to hold Garden Fest
The Lycoming County Master Gardeners will hold a Garden Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Lysock View Complex, 542 County Farm Road, Loyalsock Township.
Guests can take in the relaxing view of the only working county farm in Pennsylvania and stroll through the Master Gardeners’ gorgeous perennial, native, annual and vegetable gardens.
Free workshops will be offered, including:
Mythical, Magical Fairy Gardens by Joelle Socho, Columbia County Master Gardener;
- Eating Healthy Raw Foods by Gayle Miller, raw food coach;
- Creating a Straw Bale Garden by Sandy Visintainer, Luzerne County Master Gardener; and
- Hypertufa by Marcia Campbell and Suzanne Fry, Lycoming County Master Gardeners.
Vendors and educational displays will be set up, refreshments and food will be offered and door prizes will be awarded.
The newly published Lycoming County Master Gardeners’ cookbook, “From the Garden,” will be available for purchase, as will a variety of plants and special “garden treasures.”
An “Ask the Expert” feature puts Master Gardeners at visitors’ disposal. They will gladly assist in diagnosis, identification and recommendations. Bring gardening questions, or, better yet, bring in samples or pictures.
