2 Blossburg men charged

MANSFIELD — Two brothers have been charged in an incident that involved one of them allegedly pointing a rifle at two juveniles to “scare” them.

According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson’s office, Scott A. Sautner, 26, and Anthony J. Sautner Jr., 22, both of 619 Blake Road, Hamilton Township, were charged by Blossburg police following the incident at 697 Blake Road on Jan. 24.

Anthony Sautner was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, possessing instruments of crime, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing administration of law or other government function, tampering with or fabricating physical evident, for his part in the incident.

Police said he allegedly grabbed an AR-15 rifle, loaded it with a magazine, charged the weapon and aimed it at two juveniles who were at the residence in search of a vape pen that the 13-year-old believed was there.

Scott Sautner was charged with obstructing the administration of law or other government function and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence after he allegedly removed the rifle from the residence and took it to a camp at 47 Dreas Lane in Blossburg.

After police obtained a search warrant for the camp, Sautner and his brother allegedly took the rifle and put it in an abandoned vehicle in the woods, where it was recovered by police. Both were issued summonses to appear for a preliminary hearing March 29.
