LIBERTY – A ham and scalloped potato dinner will be held at the Liberty High School cafeteria immediately following a community church service, about 11 a.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. The dinner is sponsored by Salem Ladies Aid and Thrivent Financial.


Ladies group to meet

TIVOLI – The Christian Ladies Group will meet at 1 p.m. at Tivoli United Methodist Church, 2 miles north of Picture Rocks along Route 220. Caz Russell and his chocolate labrador retriever, Chilli, will present a program called Faith in Action.

Guest speaker scheduled

The Rev. David Shimko will be the guest speaker during the 10 a.m. worship service at Trinity Assembly of God of Montoursville, 332 N. Loyalsock Ave. Simko is a 1996 graduate of Williamsport Area High School, attended Valley Forge Christian College, graduated form the Northeast Ministry School in Allison Park in 2012 and became a credentialed Assemblies of God Minister that same year. He serves as the senior high youth pastor at Sharpsburg Family Worship Center in the Pittsburgh area.


All-you-can-eat buffet

PENNSDALE – Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Road, will hold an all-you-can-eat buffet catered by Springman’s Country Store from 4-7 p.m. This month’s menu features pulled pork barbecue and southern spit-fried chicken barbecue. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children (ages 5-10), and free for children under 5 years. Take-outs available for $10 each.


Sweet treat for a good cause

Sweet Frog, 1930 Lycoming Creek Road, will hold a fundraiser for Oasis of Hope Ministries from 5-8 p.m. Oasis of Hope is a safe house for domestic minor victims of sex trafficking and Sweet Frog will donate 15 percent of its profits to the local non-profit ministry.

Summer Festival set

MUNCY – The Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, will hold its 16th annual Summer Festival from 4-9 p.m., rain or shine, Friday and Saturday. Varied activities will be available each day with the Catawissa Military Band performing at 7 p.m. Friday (bring lawn chairs), and Nashville recording artists True Heart performing at 6 p.m. Saturday (bring lawn chairs). Yard sale and barbecue

Christ Community Worship Center Inc., 436 W. Fourth St., will hold a yard sale and barbecue from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Daniel’s Closet, a free clothing ministry for children and adults, will be held from 9-11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1101 Washington Blvd. Donations of clean, seasonal items will be accepted from 4-6 p.m. June 26. Use stairwell on Washington Boulevard.

‘Brown bag’ discussions to start

Ohev Sholom Congregation will begin monthly “brown bag” discussion sessions on the Torah (Old Testament) at noon at the offices of Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Harris, Waters and Waftenschmidt, 161 W. Third St. The sessions will be led by Rabbi Joel Kessler.

The Charles Wesley Singers, of Damascus United Methodist Church in Damascus, Maryland, will perform at 7 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St.

Ladies group to meet

TIVOLI – The Christian Ladies Group will meet at 1 p.m. at Tivoli United Methodist Church, two miles north of Picture Rocks along Route 220. Rebeccah Yoder, of Two Sisters Amish Meals near Turbotville, will speak on Amish life.

COGAN HOUSE – White Pine United Methodist Church, Campbell Road and Route 184 in Cogan House Township, will hold a craft and flea market from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on church grounds. Lunch and baked goods will be available in the social hall.

MUNCY – Huntersville United Methodist Church, 5263 Rabbittown Road, will hold a fresh-roasted turkey dinner from 4-7 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults: $10, $5 for children 6-12 and free for those under 6.

ROSEVILLE – Roseville United Methodist Church, Route 549, will hold an ice cream social from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit church ministries.


Strawberry festival set

Trinity Episcopal Church, 844 W. Fourth St., will hold a strawberry festival from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, baked beans, cold drinks and strawberries with shortcake and ice cream will be available. Rummage sale set

Covenant-Central Presbyterian Church, 807 W. Fourth St., will hold its annual rummage sale at the church in Fellowship Hall from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. All proceeds go to the local charitable programs of the church’s board of deacons.

Women’s conference set

CANTON – Kellie Williams will be the featured speaker at the New Life Church 2014 annual regional women’s conference. Complete form and mail with a check to the church office at New Life Church, 299 McMurray Road, Canton, PA 17724. Registration includes one session and a chocolate fountain on Friday night and lunch on Saturday along with two sessions.


Community yard sale

Montoursville Brethren in Christ Church, 105 Fairview Court, will hold a community yard sale from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the church parking lot. Hot dogs and baked goods will be sold to benefit Young Life. In the event of rain, the event will be canceled.

Mom’s morning out

LINDEN – Registration deadline is today for the June 14 Mom’s Morning Out at Lycoming Christian Church, 20 Chapel Hill Road. The free event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. includes lunch, snacks, games and fun. Swimsuits and a towel needed for use of a giant slip-n-slide. The program is for babies through those who have completed fifth grade. Call the church office at 322-9940 to register.
