Special praise service
The praise team Rock Solid from Calvary United Methodist Church in Mohnton will lead a music concert service at 10:40 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 42 Washington Blvd. A special offering will be taken for an overseas missions project the group sponsors.
Ham and turkey dinner
Immaculate Conception Parish Hall, Jacks Hollow Road, will hold a ham and turkey dinner from noon-6 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children 4-12 and free for those 3 and under. Takeouts available after 1 p.m.
Fellowship dinner slated
Farragut Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, along Route 864 near the intersection with Route 87, will hold its monthly First Tuesday Fellowship Dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. Free-will donations are accepted.
Ladies Group to meet
TIVOLI – The Christian Ladies Group will meet at 1 p.m. at Tivoli United Methodist Church, 2 miles north of Picture Rocks along Route 220. Master Gardeners will present a program on butterfly gardens.
AWANA clubs resume

Family thrift shop open
The family thrift shop at Fairfield United Methodist Church, 833 Fairfield Church Road, will be open from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday featuring a new supply of fall and winter clothing. Summer clothing is free.
Trash or treasures sale
Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1225 Clayton Ave. in Loyalsock Township, will hold its semi-annual trash or treasures sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Food will be available.
Monster yard sale

Church schedules blood drive

Roast turkey dinner
WATSONTOWN – Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 10275 Route 44, will hold a roast turkey dinner from 4-6 p.m. Proceeds will help support the work of Rev. John Lunn, ELCA Missionary in Liberia.
Baked steak supper
DuBoistown United Methodist Church, 133 Summer St., will hold a baked steak supper from 4-6 p.m. Takeouts will be available from 3-4 p.m. only. Cost is $9 for adults, $4.50 for children 3-10 and under 3 eat free. Baked goods also available.
Saturday service celebration

Fun Fair scheduled
MUNCY VALLEY – The second annual Fun Fair will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. at Muncy Valley United Methodist Church, 1874 Route 220 (between Muncy Valley and Sonestown in Sullivan County). There will be home made ice cream, hot dogs, barbecue, a petting zoo, horse and carriage rides, games, a three-on three-basketball tournament and more. Peach festival set
WATSONTOWN – A peach festival will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 602 Main St. There will be food for sale and music by McNett Country Band at 7 p.m. with round and square dancing in the street.
The Rev. Gary Weaver, a ministerial son of Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St., will preach from his home pulpit at 10 a.m. A former member of Pine Street, he now is the pastor at Wesley UMC in Bloomsburg.
Parish picnic set
BLOSSBURG – Holy Child Parish will hold its annual picnic from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church Hall. A roast beef dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-12.

Indoor picnic slated
WATSONTOWN – A free fellowship indoor picnic is scheduled at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, starting at 5 p.m. The menu features grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.
Central Baptist Church, 601 Seventh Ave., will hold a time of fellowship and craft-making for babies at Hershey Medical Center or guests at Rose View. Craft time begins at 10 a.m. with lunch at 12:30 p.m. and a movie at 1 p.m.
PENNSDALE – Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Road, will hold an all-you-can-eat buffet catered by Springmans Country Store of Pennsdale from 4-7 p.m. The menu features pulled-pork barbecue and southern spit-fried chicken. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children (age 5-10), and free for children under 5 years. Takeouts are available and cost $10 each.

Soup kitchen reopening
After a summer vacation break, the West End Christian Community Center, 901 Diamond St., soup kitchen reopens today. Meals are served from 11 a.m.-12:35 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. For more information, call 570-323-6297. The ministry served just under 17,000 meals last year.
Christian ladies to meet
PICTURE ROCKS – Martin Hula, author of “The Coal Picker,” will show his coal mining documentary at the Christian Ladies Group meeting at 1 p.m. at Tivoli United Methodist Church, 2 miles north of Picture Rocks along Route 220.

CANTON – The Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) of Canton with Pastor Bonnie L. Browning serving as tour leader, will sponsor three upcoming bus trips with Aug. 15 as the reservation deadline for all.
