Thrift shop open

Fairfield United Methodist Church, 833 Fairfield Church Road in Montoursville, will open its family thrift shop from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday with all items at half price.

A Christmas Carol presentation

The Lutheran Shared Ministry Players will present “A Christmas Carol” in the fellowship hall at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 142 Market St. All donations will go to United Campus Ministry of Penn College. Doors open each night at 6:30 with the opening curtain at 7. A concession will be available, providing hot drinks and snacks before and after the performances. Admission is free with donations (recommended $8-$12) being made at the event. Tickets can be obtained from any of the congregations of LSM, from as cast member, or call St. Mark’s at 570-323-4619.

Food packing volunteers sought

Registration now is open for the first 220 volunteers needed from 10 a.m.-noon at Community Baptist Church, 1853 Route 87, Montoursville, to help pack 40,000 meals. Christmas musical presentation

The Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra will perform Benjamin Britten’s cantata St. Nicholas, with holiday favorites featuring the Williamsport Youth Choir, at 4 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 142 N. Market St. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

MONTGOMERY — Montgomery area senior citizens will meet at noon at St. John’s Lutheran “Brick” Church, 196 Brick Church Road. Christmas concert

McEWENSVILLE — St. John’s United Church of Christ will feature the West Branch Chorus in a Christmas concert, barbershop style, at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterward. A free-will offering will be taken.
