BLANCHARD — Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 Beach St., will present its 24th annual King of Kings and Easter musical drama depicting the entire life of Christ at 7 p.m. today, Sunday and April 7, 8 and 9.

Free advance tickets are required for attendance, and there is no admission charge for the presentation. The tickets can be reserved by calling the church office at 570-962-2423. A love offering will be received to benefit the King of Kings drama ministry. Childcare is available during the presentation for infants through preschool children.

A musical prelude begins each evening at 6:15 p.m., presented by youth and adults from the church congregation.

King of Kings takes place in the church sanctuary where the stage is transformed into biblical Jerusalem to include the city’s marketplace, Temple, Golgotha and Jesus’ tomb. Over 125 adults, youth and children come together for the cast of King of Kings with a supporting cast of over 100 additional people. All who participate in King of Kings attend the Blanchard Church of Christ. Each year the drama changes by telling the story of Jesus’ life through the different biblical accounts of events, teachings and miracles through music and narration.

Plans and preparations for King of Kings take place year round with directors Raylene Moldovan and Kathy Spotts choosing music and narration. Supporting the directors are Sue and Arlen Moore, leading the costume creation; Terry Markle and Mindy Fortescue, creating and gathering necessary props; Brenda Leavenworth, Jake and Marilyn Gorham and Joy Moffett, working on set design and scenery; Jim Horton working with the sound; and Mary Perkins, leading the light crew.

Carol Bliler leads the ticket team, Jason Smith oversees the coordination of all the greeters, ushers and parking attendants while Liz and Brian Schindler oversee childcare during rehearsals and nights of the drama. Nicki Fravel leads the Joyful Notes children’s choir in preparing for their scenes in King of Kings. Dozens of others work alongside these team leaders.
