What’s going on?

With all the terrible things going on in our world today, from a biblical point one would believe that we are living in the last days. Second Timothy 3:1-5 states, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, high minded lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

When we look/listen to the news, it is easy to believe that we are living in the last days. All around the world the governing authorities are in compromising situations. People seem to have lost respect for those in authority. These great United States are in turmoil; the citizens are in conflict over who or what to believe about our government. We are defiantly living in different times. So we continue to ask, “What’s going on?” Is history repeating itself or are we living in the last days? I would say to the uncertain person, if you are not sure about what’s going on, be sure that your faith in the savior is solid.

It does not matter if we are living in the last days or if history is repeating itself. What matters is as human beings we must develop an attitude of gratitude and be thankful for each day that we have on this planet. We must return to good moral values and begin to help our neighbors that may be in need of our assistance. We must get back to the days when the youth respected the elderly. We must remember that life is a precious gift from God and that we should live our lives in a precious manner. We must teach our children to strive to become upstanding citizens in their community. We must do as Christ did and show love to the unlovable.

If we are following in Christ’s footsteps, we will not stress out ourselves about what’s going on in this world because our hope is in Christ, the solid rock.

The world is looking for an answer, and the world is looking at the Christians. Christians, we must demonstrate the love of Christ; we should not fight about denominations or who is worshiping correctly. Remember the world is watching us. The world is looking for an answer, and we have the answer. The answer is Christ, the one that came to save the world from its sin. Jesus is the Christ, the one who promised to never leave us nor forsake us and to be with us until the end.

So what’s going on? Give your heart to God, read the Bible and you will know for yourself what’s going on, but you will not live in fear or confusion about the answer.

God bless you as you follow His footsteps.
