Lycoming County Life Chain

The Lycoming County Life Chain will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday along the Golden Strip (East Third Street) in Loyalsock Township. All area churches are invited to participate. Life Chain is a prayerful nationwide movement in which pro-life people stand in remembrance of aborted babies. There will be stations set up along the street by 2 p.m. for people to pick up signs. Pancake breakfast at St. Lawrence

St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 344 Winthrop St., South Williamsport, will host a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. All are welcome.

Annual Heritage Days service

TURBOTVILLE — First Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Heritage Days service at Warrior Run Church, 4505 Susquehanna Trail, Turbotville, at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Paul A. Smith will portray the Rev. Peter Marshall, an immigrant from Scotland and a nationally known pastor who once served as Chaplain to the U.S. senate. Smith will deliver a sermon written by Marshall. The time period for the service is the 1940s. Communion will be served. Everyone is welcome.

October is Missions Month

LEWISBURG — October is Missions Month at Lewisburg Bible Church, 311 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg. At 9:15 a.m. each Sunday will be an informal time with missionaries presenting photos, testimonies and answering questions. Worship services at 10:30 a.m. will have a special message from the missionaries. Sunday will be an introduction to Missions Month led by Pastor Roger Wenger with Communion during the Worship services.

Kedron’s Fall Homemade Days

Kedron United Methodist Church, 14725 Route 220, at the intersection of the highway and Edkin Hill Road, will host its Fall Homemade Days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. A flea market, handcrafted items and fall decor will be available, as well as homemade baked goods, pies and soups. A Chinese auction will be held with winners drawn at 2 p.m. Saturday. For lunch, there will be barbecue, hot sausages, hot dogs, baked beans and more. Vendor and yard sale spaces are available. Contact 570-244-8041 for more information.

Basement sale at Mill Creek UMC

Mill Creek United Methodist Church, 2340 Warrensville Road, will hold a basement sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Refreshments will be served both days, including hot dogs, barbecue and homemade soups and desserts. Soups will be sold by the quart as well. Part of the proceeds will support local missions.

Rummage and bake sale

Montoursville Presbyterian Church, 900 Elm St., will hold a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

Tivoli soup sale

TIVOLI — A soup sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 12. Ham and bean, chicken corn and vegetable beef soups will be sold for $5 a quart. The church is located at 9598 Route 220, Hughesville.

Pork chop dinner at Holy Spirit

WATSONTOWN — Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10275 Route 44, Watsontown, will host a filled pork chop dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, dessert and beverage from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. The cost for dinner is $9 per person, or $5 for children. Takeouts are available.
