ARC Heating: Family-run asset to community

COGAN STATION One visit to ARC Heating and Service Co., 4468 Lycoming Creek Road, and one can tell it’s a family business.

Friendly co-owner Ashley Chase will quickly greet customers.

On the latest visit, she was quick to point out it was a family-run business that just started in December that provides furnace repair and delivery and oil sales services.

Her husband, Kevin, who was off that day, and her, act as a business team.

The business, and ARC, was named after their daughter.

“Everyone who works for us is either a longtime friend or a family member,” Ashley said.

The company employs two service technicians, one of them her father, a receptionist who is a sister and a driver.

Besides delivering fuel oil, ARC staff installs air conditioning and heating pumps and services gas and propane units.

After opening, business picked right up, Ashley said.

While they had no idea the next few months would be among the warmest on record it didn’t seem to matter.

Fuel oil deliveries and repair orders came in and now that spring arrived, farmers were calling for delivery of equipment and diesel fuel, she said.

Deliveries and service is readily available 24 hours aday. The service is for customers within a 30-mile radius, which means most of Lycoming County and part of Clinton County, Ashley said.

Another driver may be able to be hired after the summer season, she said.

“We’re growing,” Ashley said, hopeful to continue in the business for many years to come.

The Lycoming Creek Road community, friends and others have been supportive of their entrepreneurial efforts.

The goal for those with tight budgets is to give them a product which is affordable.

“We would like to grow and have all three trucks on the road at the same time and have another service technician.”
