January crashes send several to regional hospitals
Ashley M. Braasch, 22, of Newport News, Va., was taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center after her car struck a rock embankment and overturned, landing on its roof on Route 15 in Jackson Township about 8:15 p.m. Saturday, state police said.
The hospital no longer releases medical conditions of crash victims.
Also taken to the hospital from an earlier crash this month was Joseph P. Baskin, 29, of Cogan Station, who was injured when his Subaru Forester struck a parked car on Cemetery Street, just south of Cemetery Road, in Loyalsock Township about 9 p.m. on Jan. 12, state police said in a news release issued Tuesday morning.
State police on Tuesday also released the identities of three people who suffered “major injuries” in a two-vehicle crash on Route 44, just south of Middle Road, in Limestone Township on Dec. 20.
A northbound Honda Civic driven Shawn M. Fera, 24, of Jersey Shore, and a southbound pickup truck driven by Jeffery T. Robbins, 48, of Williamsport, collided head-on in the southbound lane about 6:15 p.m., police said.
Both drivers suffered major injuries as did a passenger in Fera’s car, Brittani C. Young, 18, Jersey Shore, police said. The drivers were taken to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, but a nursing supervisor said Tuesday night the hospital no longer had any information about their conditions. No information was available either on Young.
