Conditions of some in area wrecks improve

James L. Shuta, 46, of Hughesville, was admitted to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries suffered when his SUV crashed into a tree on Moreland Baptist Road in Moreland Township about 9 p.m. Saturday, state police said. He has since been discharged.

Concerning motorists in two other crashes, two patients who were critically injured last month have improved slightly, according to a nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Tracy L. Moyer, 44, of Montoursville, was reported in serious condition Tuesday night. She was injured when her car and a truck collided at Lycoming Mall Drive and Cemetery Road in Fairfield Township on Jan. 29.

Etta Myers, 71, of Jersey Shore, also was reported in serious condition at the medical center. She was injured when her vehicle and another collided on Route 220 in front of the Lewis Veterinary Clinic in Piatt Township on Jan. 16.

A passenger in Myers’ car, Megan Harpster, 18, of the same address, remained in critical condition Tuesday night at Geisinger, the supervisor said.
