A city resident said he has noticed a resurgence of commerce and foot traffic in Williamsport, especially downtown as people head to restaurants and specialty shops.
“One of the things I’ve noticed is the impressive amount of city restaurants,” said Jason Fitzgerald, 31, of Penn Street.
On a sun-splashed Monday afternoon, Fitzgerald spoke his mind as he walked along Pine Street near West Fourth Street.
“We have top-notch food and wine and restaurants serving a wide variety of items on their menus,” he said.
Another positive trend Fitzgerald said he’s noticed is the amount of stores specializing in merchandise that can’t be found elsewhere.
“There are a lot of neat stores,” he said.
He said visitors always can find unique gifts, and store employees and owners go out of their way to greet each customer.
“I love living here and doing business here,” he said.
“I am proud to call the city my home.”
