Commissioners to review grant applications at Thursday meeting

Lycoming County commissioners voted Tuesday to approve applying for a $617,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for the county’s substance abuse treatment court.

Commissioners also are expected to review a $19,690 grant application at their Thursday meeting to support the county’s Pre-Release Center’s intermediate punishment program.

If approved by the state, the funding would be used for services related to the program and not employee salaries, according to Michelle McDermott, county department of fiscal services administrative assistant.

Mark Egly, Lycoming County Children and Youth Services administrator, also will seek approval for a consulting firm to create a website to recruit foster care families.
