Jackson Day Dinner comes to city tonight

The annual Jackson Day Dinner will be held tonight at the Holiday Inn, Williamsport.

Democratic candidates for various offices are expected to attend the event.

Dinner is set for 7 p.m.

Social hour will be at 6.

Keynote speaker will be state Treasurer Rob McCord.

The evening’s activities will also include remarks from a number of state office candidates.

They include:

Eugene DePasquale, auditor general, potential candidate for governor

Brad Koplinski, Harrisburg City Councilman and candidate for lieutenant governor.

Max Myers, candidate for governor.

Joe Waters, candidate for Superior Court Judge.

Joe Sestak, former U.S. House member and potential candidate for governor.

Mark Smith, candidate for lieutenant governor.

Candidates for Williamsport City Council and other local offices are also expected to attend.

State Rep. Rick Mirabito, D-Williamsport, also will address the event.

The evening will include special recognition for those who have volunteered on behalf of the Democratic Party in 2012.
