Borough residents now can drink public water

MONTGOMERY – A water boil advisory for the borough has ended.

The advisory was issued Thursday by the West Branch Regional Authority after equipment used to add chlorine into the water system had malfunctioned, according to Authority Executive Director Eric Moore.

Various water samples showed no contamination of the water supply, he noted.

In the meantime, the equipment for adding chlorine had to be repaired.

Subsequently, the advisory was lifted Friday afternoon.

Moore noted that all borough residents served by the public system had been notified of the problem.

“We put out door hangers and phone calls. We notified radio stations and television stations,” he said.
