Supervisors look at road contract, stormwater
Stormwater management development, the elementary school building and a road maintenance contract were topics at Wednesday night’s Woodward Township Supervisors meeting.
MidPenn Engineering is working alongside township employees to develop a new stormwater management plan. The township’s plan is not up to federal standards.
The project is moving along rapidly, according to Marc Drier, township solicitor. Engineers should be finished with their surveying soon, and the supervisors hope to have a new plan before them in the coming months.
Supervisors also approved an agreement between the township and Appalachian Prefab. According to Drier, the business has agreed to develop on easement on its property, which will be dedicated to the township’s stormwater management.
The business also has agreed to maintain and inspect the property as needed, Drier explained.
The township reviewed paving bids from several companies and ultimately decided to award a contract to Haymaker East Tar and Chip for $71,418 for upcoming road repairs.
