Wellsboro school board appoints district solicitor
WELLSBORO – The Wellsboro Area School District Board approved the appointment of Bruce L. Vickery, of Ginn & Vickery, as district solicitor for the 2013-14 school year.
Vickery will earn $125 per hour for his services. The rate for legal assistants, as needed, will be $50 per hour. Expenses and costs, such as court filing, recording and reporting fees, will be billed and itemized on a monthly statement.
The board also approved the renewal of the school-based juvenile probation program, a joint effort between the district, the Court of Common Pleas and the Juvenile Probation Department. The cost to run the program for the 2013-14 year is $21,612.
Board members approved an invoice in the amount of $8,793 for May consulting services concerning the construction of a new stadium by the Wellsboro Area Education Foundation.
A consultant agreement with Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for physical therapy services at the rate of $58 per hour for the 2013-14 school year also was approved.
Dental hygiene services will be available to kindergarten through third and seventh grade students at the cost of $6.50 per student.
The middle school’s Art Club was shut down. The club zeroed out their account by purchasing art supplies for the art room.
