City Council OKs accepting gas money for road project

Locally elected and appointed officials voted on the following matters in the past week:


City Council voted 7-0 to accept $117,200 from Lycoming County’s portion of natural gas impact fees to pay for engineering design of additional construction on Reach Road at the industrial park. Voting in favor were Council President Bill Hall, Bonnie Katz, Liz Miele, Jonathan Williamson, Don Noviello, Randall J. Allison and N. Clifford “Skip” Smith.

School district

Jersey Shore Area School Board voted to appoint Denise Smith as board treasurer. Voting in favor were board members Shelley Helm, Robert Pryor, Craig Allen, Harry Brungard, Karen Stover, Denise Smith, Harry Miller, Heather Williamson and John Shireman.

Montoursville Area School Board voted to hire Danielle Logue and Dawn Reeder for an elementary summer reading program for students entering grades 1 and 2. The two will be paid $24 per hour for the two-hour sessions. Voting yes were Thomas McNamara, Jeff Schans, Ellen Stoner, Dale Ulmer, Scott Konkle, Jill Kaplan, George Hagemeyer and James Bergen. Dora Pioli was absent.
