No decisions in Jersey Shore Area School District
Jersey Shore Area School Board Monday night was set to vote on a $36 million budget for next school year.
As of press time, school directors still had not acted on the spending plan, after going into executive session.
The board remained behind closed doors at 10 p.m.
Business manager Adrienne Craig noted that the budget called for no increase in real estate taxes.
The vote earlier this month to close Nippenose Elementary School brought a savings in expenditures, she noted.
The budget had called for eliminating the per capita tax which translates to about $60,000 in lost revenues.
Overall, the balance is expected to show a fund balance of $5.7 million.
During the meeting, board discussed the possibility of changing its policies on student attendance and graduation.
