Sunday dice run to support Toys for Tots

Bikes will run on Sunday to give kids a good Christmas.

“Chapter M,” the local branch of the Honda Goldwing Road Riders Association, is sponsoring a dice run to collect toys and funds to support Toys for Tots that will start at Memorial Park at 11 a.m., with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.

“This is our first time doing it as Chapter M,” said chapter President John Markley. “Everything for Toys for Tots stays in Lycoming County. All the funds we make and everything we do will all go to them.”

The registration fee is $5, and riders are asked to bring along a new, unwrapped toy. Riders of all makes of bikes are welcome, as are drivers of any sort of vehicle.

“Every motorcycle, four-wheelers, vans, it doesn’t matter,” Markley said. “We’ll have two spots out on the run to roll dice, and once back at the pavilion. There will be prizes for low dice and high dice rollers – gas cards seem to be a big hit.”

Riders will go on a 54-mile route, rain or shine.

The route is: Memorial Park to Beaver Street, onto West Fourth Street, to Arch Street, to Lycoming Creek Road, to Route 973, to Daughertys Run Road, to Route 287, to Route 184, to Green Mountain Road, to Route 15, to Route 14, to Trout Run Mountain Road, to Rose Valley Road, to Route 973, to Bloomingrove Road, then back to Memorial Park via Cemetery, Park and Fourth streets.
