Son jailed on burglary charges
JERSEY SHORE – Donald Ralph Brandt III, 42, of 291 Willits Road, was arrested and jailed after allegedly breaking into his mother’s home “looking for medications” about 3 p.m. Sunday, according to state Trooper Edward Dammer.
The mother, Dixie Brandt, was not home at the time, but when she arrived at the Piatt Township property at 267 Willits Road soon after the break-in, she found the door frame from her garage to the home damaged, Dammer said.
Within an hour, the son was questioned and arrested at his home next door, Dammer said. Brandt admitted to committing the break-in, he added.
At his arraignment, Brandt admitted that he was undergoing treatment at a Lock Haven clinic after becoming a heroin addict.
Following his arraignment Sunday night before District Judge James Carn on charges of burglary, felony trespassing and criminal mischief, he was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail.
