Projects of the primary highways network to include:
Interstate 180 paving in east and west bound lanes east of Montoursville to the Lycoming/Northumberland counties line near the Main Street exit at Muncy. That’s to be done between 2015 and 2017. Work includes paving and overlay.
Interstate 180 bridge used by Lycoming Valley. Replacing deck making it a composite. A $6 million project for the fall of 2015.
U.S. Route 15 at Buttonwood and Route 284. Resurfacing highway. A $3.8 million project in 2015.
Projects key to city travel, to include:
West Third Street, from Campbell Street to Basin Street. An estimated $2.1 million reconstruction with bids going out in 2018.
West Fourth Street in Newberry. A $7.5 million reconstruction with bids out in 2016.
Route 414 in Cedar Run. Embankment slide repair. Estimated cost is $2.6 million and project timeline is 2016.
Route 44 between Route 880 and Main Street exit of Jersey Shore, $1.5 million; on Lycoming Creek Road in Hepburn Township $1.6 million; on Route 118 in Hughesville and Wolf Township, $1.6 million.
Studies are being done at:
West Fourth Street interchange. A $240,000 study to look at directional upgrades enabling drivers to use several ramps to access Route 220 in different directions.
Route 220 between the city and Jersey Shore. Additional public input in projects to be done in stages.
Routes 220 and 405 at Hughesville and Wolf Townships. Four alternative designs to relieve congestion and provide better access at gateway to Marcellus Shale area. Public feedback continuing.
Bridges to be repaired, rehabilitated or resurfaced include:
West Fourth Street over Lycoming Creek. A $3.7 million project to rehabilitate the deck. The county is receiving extra money not part of the transportation improvement money for the project. Scheduled for 2015.
Replacement of the county-owned Marsh Hill Bridge in McIntyre township. Emergency repairs are under way within the next 10 days but the $2 million replacement is scheduled for 2017.
Black Hole Creek at Pinchtown in Clinton Township. A $1 million replacement scheduled for 2015.
Thomas Street bridge in Jersey Shore. A $1.1 million rehabilitation of the deck set for 2015.
English Center’s suspension bridge. Possible rehabilitation in 2018 with an estimated cost of $1 million if needed.
Bridge on Route 405 at Turkey Run in Clinton Township. Replacement for $1 million.
Bridge over Euclid Creek in DuBoistown, replacement estimated at $1.4 million this year.
