Showers to scatter by 1st day of fair
The forecast for Thursday – the opening day of the Lycoming County Fair in Hughesville – is mostly sunny with a high near 81, and clear skies for the Kix rock concert and fireworks show that night, with a comfortable low of about 58 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, today will bring Williamsport and the region a 50-percent change of some showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m., with humidity returning and a high near 88 degrees.
It should be a comfortable night, however, with a low of about 63, and some chance of showers before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Rain is expected to continue Tuesday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms but most of them happening later in the afternoon.
It will be partly sunny and slightly cooler than Monday, with a high near 85. Tuesday night should also be rather cool, with a low reaching about 68, and a 50 percent chance of rain.
The chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms continues Wednesday, with a mostly cloudy day and a high near 82. That night, should be rather cool, with a low around 58.
Weather for the second day of the fair also looks to be agreeable for humans, and the animals on display at the fairgrounds.
Friday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 83, and Friday night, should be partly cloudy, with a low about 60.
Saturday also should be mostly sunny, with a high near 83 and a chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.
