Coroner called to scene of accident

The Lycoming County Coroner’s Office was called Saturday to the scene of an incident involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the Harvest Moon Mobile Home Park.

Shortly after the initial dispatch to the incident that occurred around 5:15 p.m., the Lycoming County 911 center said the pedestrian was possibly a 2-year-old girl and the situation was one of possible “trauma arrest.”

State police on Saturday night did not confirm any details about the incident and declined to comment at the scene crowded with residents of the park.

Responding to the scene were state police, Jersey Shore EMS and members of the Woodward Township Volunteer Fire Co.

A state police forensic investigation unit arrived around 6 p.m. about 10 minutes after representatives from the coroner’s office.

The Woodward Township Fire Co. blocked off the entrance to the park where the incident occurred at the intersection with Youngs Road.

The speed limit on Youngs Road is 25 mph, but signs posted within the park clearly display 15 mph.

State police were investigating many crucial details before they release any information including the identity of the person who has died.

All details will be released as soon as they become available, state police said.
